Weigh In...The Ugly Truth

Weighed in this morning on the office Tanita Body Composition Analyzer.  Time to admit the ugly truth.

Body Type: Standard
Gender: Female
Age: 36
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 336.4 lbs
BMI: 54.3
Fat %: 53.8%
BMR: 2262 kcal
Fat Mass: 181.0 lbs
Fat Free Mass: 155.4
Total Body Water: 113.8 lbs

Desirable Ranges:
Fat %: 21 - 33%
Fat Mass: 41.4 - 76.6 lbs

Now, what does all this mean?  Aside from the obvious, that is (I'm morbidly obese by any standard). It means that 53.8% of my body is fat.  155.4 lbs of my body is muscle, bone, and other stuff.  113.8 lbs of that is water.  I burn 2262 calories at rest (which is great news!).  Since I'm moderately active, I can actually eat 2200-2300 calories a day and lose weight.

Yesterday was a little rough...I was sooooo hungry because I did 5 deep tissue massages on Thursday then 2 massages Friday and a workout with my trainer. All I wanted, from Thursday on, was ice cream.  I ended up eating a pint of Ben and Jerry's yesterday.  It was delicious, but not a good plan.  It's things like this that have gotten me to the weight I'm at.  But I didn't stop there...
Breakfast:
scrambled eggs
3 slices bacon
2 pieces ezekiel bread toast
greek yogurt

Lunch:
2 slices meatball pizza from Whole Foods
small bag Fritos (2 oz?)
pint Ben and Jerry's Late Night Snack (delicious, really)

Dinner:
2 slices buffalo chicken pizza from Whole Foods (very spicy!  awesome!)
small cup Kozy Shack rice pudding

Snack: (got invited out)
appetizer of Chipotle Chicken Crisp nachos at Margaritas
Russellrita (margarita)
a few chicken nachos

I feel like I was eating all day, and there was little to no activity.  I still wasn't tremendously hungry this morning (which is when I did the weighing).  I also had a diet coke (which I need to stop, it makes me crave more food, especially sweets, and it's TERRIBLE for you; hadn't had one all week, and had to go and ruin it).

Well, now, today we begin the process again.  I had a protein bar for breakfast with my vitamins and octalean, lunch will be a big salad, grilled cheese and tomatoes on ezekiel bread, and a small piece of strawberry shortcake cake from Whole Foods.  Dinner will be a challenge...it will be late, and it will most likely be at Chili's.  I'll do my best.

Maybe I Hate Them, Too

I saw an article in a magazine today that made my blood boil.  Actually, the TITLE made my blood boil, the article itself was very interesting.  This Men's Health article is the one I'm referring to.  While I have a hard time accepting everything put forth in it, I think it's written in such a way that people who completely agree with the title may actually learn something.

I want to use this blog to get stuff like this seen by other people besides me and maybe the readers of Men's Health.  I want to put fresh ideas about weight loss and being a "big person" in today's world.  There's no need for the hatred and ignorance, especially when the majority of the country is obese.  We need to help ourselves and each other, and there's nothing like a little education to make a big change.
